When someone near and dear to you passes away before their time, it can be equally devastating and inspiring. This is how we feel about the passing of our colleague Naomi Nagy. Naomi served as our operations manager and chief compliance officer for five years. She was an incredible asset to our team and an integral part of the Mason & Associates family.

After battling breast cancer for most of her adult life, Naomi passed away on March 3, 2016. As a way to honor Naomi’s memory and recognize her contribution to our industry, we are holding a contest.

The Choice Is Up To You

There are so many breast cancer organizations providing valuable services to medical research, community outreach, and survivor support. We chose three charities for our contest and are leaving it up to you to decide who will receive our donation!  

Think Pink Rocks

As a way to honor his mother, Jacob Nagy is running the 2016 TCS New York Marathon on November 6th. All the proceeds he receives in fundraising will go to benefit Think Pink Rocks, a non-profit organization focusing on raising awareness about early breast cancer detection, genetic testing, treatment, and research. The money from this fundraiser will go towards cancer research at both Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the Breast Oncology Center in Michigan.

Susan G. Komen

Many of you will have heard of this organization, known for its popular “Race for the Cure” events all over America. It not only gives substantial funds to breast cancer research, but it also provides for medical care, community and provider education, and psychosocial support. Breast Cancer Research Foundation

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation strives to promote research in order to prevent and cure breast cancer. It is considered the highest rated breast cancer organization in the United States and has raised more than half a billion dollars for research since 1993.

Brent M. Mason is the President of Mason & Associates, Inc.  Brent began his career in 1999 with Putnam Investments, where he was a vice president and served as the marketing manager for Putnam’s Insurance Products Division, specializing in the development and sale of investment vehicles within insurance related products. Brent earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas where he focused on marketing and finance. Brent is a licensed California insurance agent and can offer life, health, variable and long-term care insurance products. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors at Hillsides, an organization that specializes in meeting the needs of at-risk children in the greater Los Angeles area. Brent lives in Pasadena with his wife Leah and their three beautiful children. He enjoys golf, snow skiing and spending time with family and friends.
